To support our growing fleet, we are seeking an experienced and motivated HGV Mechanic x2 to join our team.

Role Purpose
The HGV Mechanic will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, servicing and repair of the company's fleet of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), tankers, specialist plant and associated equipment. The successful candidate will ensure vehicles remain roadworthy, compliant and operational while minimising downtime and supporting the efficient delivery of services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance, servicing and repairs on HGVs, LGVs, trailers and specialist vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults using diagnostic equipment and technical expertise.
• Carry out preventative maintenance inspections in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and company schedules.
• Prepare vehicles and equipment for MOT and statutory inspections.
• Complete vehicle defect repairs promptly and effectively.
• Ensure all maintenance work is carried out to DVSA standards and in line with company policies.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports and job sheets.
• Respond to vehicle breakdowns and provide roadside assistance when required.
• Support the management of spare parts inventory and workshop stock control.
• Ensure workshop equipment and tools are maintained in a safe and serviceable condition.
• Adhere to all Health & Safety, environmental and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with drivers, transport managers and operational teams to ensure fleet availability.
• Participate in an on-call rota where required.
